Hinds Instruments maintains active programs for responsible environmental stewardship related to its products, including WEEE and RoHS.

WEEE

The European Union has mandated that all producers of electronic equipment must comply with EU Directive 2002/96/EC.  This directive focuses on waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), with the objective of minimizing waste disposal and to encourage recycling or remanufacturing of devices and components.  To comply with the EU WEEE Directive, our RoHS/WEEE team developed a Hinds Instruments WEEE policy, which was approved by executive management.  The key to our WEEE policy is a “Take Back Program” which we communicate to all end users of our products.  Our intent is to allow customers to return obsolete or non-repairable product to Hinds for appropriate disposition.
